Graduation of the Second Generation of Cat.II Professionals in South East Europe

Second generation of students of our Category II Comprehensive Education in Prosthetics and Orthotics in South East Europe graduated in December last year. The Final Practical and Theoretical Examinations were organized at the Kerschensteiner Vocational School Centre (MSOT) in Munich. Our special guests in Munich were delegates of the SSPO and Mahidol University, led by Dr Nisarat Opartkiattikul.

Final exams and graduation in Munich

Twenty P&O technicians from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia have successfully completed the distance learning program. These students, who have already at least 5 years of practical experience, are the second generation of orthopaedic technicians acquiring the professional education in prosthetics and orthotics in the blended learning program on this qualification level.

Since the official letter of reaccreditation of the program by the ISPO (read here) was received earlier this year, we organized a small certificate awarding ceremony in Zagreb, on Thursday, June 11th. Successful graduates were awarded ISPO Category II certificates at a ceremony held at the Department of Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Devices of the University Hospital Centre in Zagreb. We are grateful to our dear friend and supporter, Dr Miroslav Jelić, who was the host of this event.

Students could not hide their pride and happiness that the investment of time and hard work has proved to be so fruitful for their individual professional development. Moreover, they are aware that their accreditation and education is another step in the development of the prosthetic and orthotic profession in the region.
