Human Study has designed Specialized Courses in Prosthetics and Orthotics (SCOPe) to provide an accessible and flexible way for professionals to keep their knowledge current, strengthen their competencies, and develop new skills in orthotics and prosthetics. SCOPe courses serve as Continuing Professional Development (CPD), supporting both practitioners involved in service provision and educators engaged in training and mentoring.
Our SCOPe program responds to the growing global need for skilled prosthetists and orthotists across the public, private, and not‑for‑profit sectors, while also supporting those who contribute to teaching and capacity building within their institutions.
SCOPe courses use an innovative curriculum designed to help professionals deepen their competencies and develop new skills relevant to the needs of their communities. For educators, SCOPe offers a structured way to update clinical knowledge and further develop teaching and mentoring skills in practical training environments. The short, highly specialized courses can be taken individually while maintaining employment.
Through a mix of video lectures, quizzes, supervised clinical practice, and follow‑up support, participants can integrate their learning into daily practice and apply it effectively in both clinical and educational settings.
SCOPe training courses deliver knowledge and skills in multiple formats, in 3 phases:
Online academic/ theoretical studies
Multimedia content, pre-recorded and live lectures via e-learning platform.
Duration: Up to 8 weeks.
Onsite clinical application of theory
Onsite hands-on workshop at either the participants’ own workshop, or a workshop easily accessible to all participants.
Duration: Up to 9 days.
Follow-up – Online sessions directly after the hands-on workshops.
SCOPe educators follow up with participants to assist with the application of knowledge into regular daily practice. Participants prepare case presentations and are encouraged to engage with the lecturers in reviewing cases and problem-solving.
Duration: Up to 3 months.
Active involvement in prosthetic and orthotic service provision.
At least one year of professional experience in the field.
A computer with constant and stable access to the internet.
Motivation to strengthen your knowledge, clinical competencies, and professional skills.
Courses can be offered across all areas of prosthetics and orthotics upon request.
They are tailored to the needs of professionals working in patient care as well as educators.
Our SCOPe courses are delivered through a blended learning model, led by a globally connected team of experienced clinicians and educators.
This diversity brings current developments and a wide range of perspectives into the learning experience.
The result is a training environment that goes beyond traditional models, preparing participants to meet the real demands of clinical practice.
