Our team and students from seven countries in Africa and the Middle East are just back home from Cairo! They spent 10 days with our expert trainer Youssef Salam (CPO) in hands-on training on the upper limb  prosthetics (ULP). This training is a regular part of the BSc in Prosthetics program curriculum. Successful graduates will acquire the Professional Prosthetist/Orthotist ISPO qualification level . 

In spite of numerous restrictions in organizing face-to-face trainings due to the still raging pandemic and potential risks for all involved, the hands-on seminar was a huge success, thanks also to our host, the company Orthomedics, in whose premises the workshop took place. 

Students learned the essential concepts and theories in upper extremity prosthetics through a guided experience in producing and fitting prosthetic aids for three levels of amputations. Several of our students in this group had very little prior experience in this professional area. This was for them a rare opportunity to learn and acquire skills in a professional area that is very complex and often neglected in educational programs.
