In this video, Human Study shares the story of its work in Ukraine through the voice of Tetiana Kolosova. Tetiana is a project manager at Human Study. She shares her story alongside graduates, educators, and a young prosthetic user whose life was changed by prosthetic care.
Tetiana’s journey begins in Kharkiv, a city marked by destruction, resilience, and the determination to move forward. From the first Human Study training programs in Ukraine in 2018, through the COVID pandemic, and into the years of war, one thing remained constant: the commitment to strengthening the future of rehabilitation care in Ukraine.
The video features:
Oleksandr Herasymenko, who reflects on why continuous education matters and how Human Study helped fill critical knowledge gaps in Ukraine’s prosthetics and orthotics sector.
Denys Nahornyi, an experienced upper-limb prosthetist from Superhumans Center, who speaks about the value of internationally recognized, evidence-based education and the urgent need to prepare the next generation of specialists in Ukraine.
Tobias Krümmel, expert lecturer and practitioner from Germany, who shares his experience teaching in Ukraine, watching students grow in confidence, and supporting young patients during hands-on workshops.
A young prosthetic user and his mother who remind us what this work is really about: new possibilities, dignity, independence, and joy. This is not only a story about education. It is a story about people who kept going – students who refused to give up, teachers who continued to travel and teach, and patients whose first moments with a prosthesis made every challenge worth it.
Human Study is helping build more than professional skills in Ukraine. With its internationally accredited programs, Human Study is helping build a strong rehabilitation community, grounded in knowledge, practice, partnership, and hope.

In this video, Olena Latysh, Project Manager at Human Study and a Ukrainian living in Germany, shares how working with Human Study became more than a job. For her, it became a way to stay connected to Ukraine, support people affected by war, and help strengthen the future of prosthetics and orthotics care.
Through Olena’s story and the voices of Human Study students, this video offers a closer look at how education can create real impact — even in the most difficult circumstances.
Human Study’s blended learning model combines online teaching with hands-on workshops in Ukraine. This gives students access to international expertise while allowing them to stay and work in their own country. For many, these educational programs are not only a path to international knowledge and certification, but also a way to better serve people with disabilities. The needs for prosthetic and orthotic services has grown dramatically since 2022.
In this video, students share:
Their voices speak of determination, gratitude, and growth. They describe late nights, demanding coursework, practical seminars, international exchange, and the powerful experience of learning skills they can apply directly with patients.
Olena also reflects on the challenges behind the scenes: tight deadlines, equipment issues, construction delays, and the realities of working in wartime. But above all, she speaks about the resilience of the students — taking exams after nights in bomb shelters, continuing training during blackouts, and staying committed to their profession despite enormous pressure.
This is a story about more than education. It is about building a community of professionals who are ready to raise standards, support recovery, and help shape the future of rehabilitation care in Ukraine.
